When the reconnaissance platoon penetrated a small wood, MR 021113,
they encountered a detachment of about 40 German cyclist infantry
who decided to surrender.
At the moment when the platoon stopped firing and both sergeant
Fligiel and corporal Matejuk left the tanks to accept the surrender
other German soldiers threw hand grenades and opened fire, killing
both Polish soldiers.
The remaning Stuart tanks of the platoon opened fire and eliminated
