[His name is mentioned on the Polish Air Force memorial at Northolt, U.K.]

Por. Mondschein J.T. was shot down on 8.11.1941 with Wellington R 1215 
and was recaptured in Reichenberg area, murderd in Brux on 29.3.1944 
by Gestapo.

"Great Escape"
Six Airmen buried in the Poznań Garrison Cemetery have been killed after the 
"Great Escape" from Stalag Luft III at Żagan, Poland. 

They were killed by German Gestapo and later on cremated. 
The urns containing the ashes were placed in a special mausoleum in the camp.
 In 1994 all the ashes were transferred  to Poznań.
