CRASH of WELLINGTON Z 1345

On 23.6.1942 Wellington Z 1345 GR-D has been shot down by a German nighfighter and crashed in the North Sea 18 kms NW of the Island of Terschelling during a raid on Emden.

Five crew members have been killed.

On 15.7.1942 DUBAS Zbigniew Jan Kazimierz washed ashore on the Island of Terschelling, the Netherlands.

MICHALIK Wacław Stanisław and KAPA Kazimierz Jerzy both washed ashore and buried on 24.7.1942 on the Island of Schiermonnikoog, the Netherlands

MELLER Józef Alojzy initially washed ashore on 17.7.1942 and has been initially buried in the Roman Catholic Churchyard of Nes on the Island of Ameland, the Netherlands

TWARKOWSKI Zdzisław Zygmunt washed ashore on 23.7.1944 and he has been buried in the General Cemetery, at Ulrum, the Netherlands
