CRASH of LANCASTERE PB 854
2.3.1945 The Squadron sent 13 aircrafts to attack Köln in daylight, sadly two never returned.
Lancaster PB 854 (BH-I) took off from Faldingworth, Lincolnshire, at 07.10 and was later hit by Anti Aircraft fire and brought down in the city suburbs of Köln. All seven of the crew lost their lives.

ppor. Nieszkodny A. B. buried in the Reichswald Forest Cemetery at Kleve, Germany.
Sierż. Mroziński J., kpr. strz. Cwenar S. and kpr. Szymański E. have been buried in the Polish War Cemetery at Lommel in Belgium.

There have been buried in Lommel in the graves III.B.11 and in II.F.11 Unknown Airmen who were killed 2.3.1945. One is buried next to Czwenar S.
